About the Role
We are looking for a Cost Controller to provide clear visibility and control over operational spending across Fleet, Warehouse & Quality, and Commercial operations.
This operations-focused control role works closely with the teams that directly drive costs. The Cost Controller will monitor spending against budgets, identify variances and overspending risks in near real time, and flag issues to the Order Management Lead for immediate corrective action.
The role plays a key part in protecting cost per ton and margin per ton while reducing working capital risks from uncontrolled operational spending.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor operational spending across Fleet, Warehouse & Quality, and Commercial operations.
Track actual costs against approved budgets and identify variances and overspending risks.
Flag cost issues and unusual spending patterns within days rather than waiting for month-end closing.
Audit and validate invoices, trip logs, purchase records, and inventory data against budgets and operational records.
Analyze fleet-related costs, including fuel, maintenance, utilization, and trip-related expenses.
Monitor warehouse-related costs, including labor, throughput, inventory, and shrinkage.
Work closely with operational teams to investigate cost variances and identify their root causes.
Escalate significant cost risks to the Order Management Lead and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost tracking and operational spend records.
Support the development of cost-control reports and dashboards that provide timely visibility into operational spending.
Work with relevant teams to improve cost efficiency and reduce unnecessary operational expenses.
Pull and analyze operational cost data from ERP, CRM, and other company systems.
Ensure cost monitoring considers chain-of-custody and traceability requirements within a regulated feedstock/commodity environment.
Support continuous improvement of cost-control processes and reporting.
Requirements & Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in cost control, cost accounting, or operations finance.
Experience in logistics, fleet, warehousing, FMCG, or trading is preferred.
Working knowledge of fleet cost structures, including fuel, maintenance, and utilization.
Working knowledge of warehouse cost structures, including labor, throughput, and shrinkage.
Strong ability to audit and reconcile invoices, trip logs, inventory data, and operational records against budgets.
Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills are required.
Experience with SQL or BI tools such as Power BI or Looker is a strong plus.
Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems and the ability to extract and analyze operational cost data.
Experience with GROW, Super App, or FLOW/JANET is a plus; system-specific training will be provided.
Understanding of chain-of-custody and traceability requirements in a regulated feedstock or commodity environment is preferred.
ISCC exposure is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work with speed and proactively flag issues before they impact margins.
Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
